Biography
Leyva is the son of Maria Gonzalez and Yin Alvarez,
both gymnastics coaches. He is coached by his dad. He has one brother, Dayanis
Mesa. He comes from a competitive family, as his mother was a competitive
gymnast and his cousin is a two-time world champion free diver. Leyva enjoys
baseball and would like to study something in the field of science. Leyva says
his role models are Blaine Wilson, David Durante, and Paul Hamm. He hopes to one
day make a World Championship and Olympic team.

How did you get involved?: Both my parents were gymnasts, and now they're
coaches.
Favorite Gymnastics Thing: My favorite thing about gymnastics has to be
the rush that you get once you make a new skill you learned.

Goals: win a Visa Championships, win the World Championships, and of
course, win the Olympic Games
